Engine Room & Lazarette Equipment
Twin diesel freshwater cooled CAT engines @800hp each. Heavy duty aluminum engine platforms with resilient engine mounts supplied by the engine manufacturer. Thermal and Acoustical insulation. Queenship's material and installation procedures for the engine room acoustical insulation, which have been developed in consultation with Soundown, are summarized as follows: Above salon floor: 1/4" damping sheet covering entire floor surface including the area under cabinetry with standard carpet underlay and carpet laid above after cabinetry installation. Salon floor (and other principal floors): constructed from 2" Nidacore, a honey-combed structural material which also retards sound transmission. Engine room bulkheads and ceiling: shrouded with a 1/4" damping sheet, 2 layers of 1 1/4" mass composite supplied by Soundown with powder coated white. In addition the forward surface of the bulkhead separating the engine room from the accommodation area of the vessel is covered with an extra layer of sound dampening composite material. Bulkheads are built to water tight standards using fittings and other techniques that further suppress sound transmission. Tides Marine no drip shaft seals. Underwater exhaust system by Marine Exhaust including stainless steel exhaust elbows, dumping into Queenship's side exhaust port with flow directing baffles & idle bypass. Electrical System & Components
The vessel was built with DC and AC electrical system. The bow thruster, toilets and electronics are DC and the appliances, air conditioning, hot water and entertainment units are AC. There are both AC and DC lights throughout the vessel.

The following general description outlines the key characteristics of each electrical system: The batteries also power an inverter which operates appliances such as fridge, freezer, microwave, the TV & stereo in the salon in order that this equipment in the vessel can run without using the generator for longer periods of time. All pumps are operated from the 24V batteries. In addition to the batteries listed below there is a house bank of: 8x8D 12 Volt sealed Lifeline batteries, plus 1 emergency All Star lead acid 12 Volt battery for the VHF radio(s) located in the port side flybridge settee. The DC system increases the weight of the vessel because the house bank weighs approximately 1280 lbs. For AC equipment to operate the vessel must be hooked up to shorepower or its generator must be running. AC power is converted to DC power (through the use of power supplies) to operate 24 vdc lighting, electronics & pumps. Refrigerator, stoves, washer & dryer and other appliances, entertainment electronics like radios & TV's are operated directly from AC power. In addition to the batteries listed below there are 2 backup 8D 12 Volt sealed deep cycle Lifeline batteries to provide the vessel with additional assurance for continuous power supply for navigation electronics during switching between generators or between generators & shore power.

The Vessel's electrical system is controlled and monitored from Queenship's specially engineered AC & DC main power distribution and switch board panels which are built from compact, high quality components. The system includes high quality circuit breakers to provide the best over current protection to both cable and electrical equipment. These breakers are used throughout the panel, rather than inline fuses or battery switches often found in marine electrical systems. The basic electrical system included in the Vessel accepts one (1) or two (2) 21 kw gensets.

(1) 50 amp shore power, and (1) 2500 watt inverter. Compact custom designed AC & DC backlit panels are designed to facilitate queenship's custom pilothouse interior layout. The main switchboard comes with a generator frequency meter, amp and volt meters for each generator and shore power. For communication & navigation equipment the base electrical system provides 90 amp and 24 volt from DC power supplies. Operation of the Generators & Shore Power can be operated from the engine room. The Queenship system incorporates a PLC (programmable logic control) system that prevents multiple power sources (i.e. generators & shore power) from coming on simultaneously and allows the control features of the electrical system to be operated through lighter communication wires that can optionally be added in multiple locations on the boat. In the unlikely event of a PLC failure the main switch board contains an override that allows for manual selection of generators or shore power.

The vessel's electrical equipment includes the following: 21 kw Kohler diesel genset with sound shield, fresh water cooled, exhaust separator & muffler, fitted with seawater strainer, and remote start in pilothouse. Batteries: Bow thruster/anchor capstan: 4 each, 8D, 24Volt, sealed deep cycle by Lifeline. Engine starting: 2 each, 8D, 24 Volt AGM. Genset starting: 1 each, 27 series 12 Volt. Engine alarm system; audio: temperature & oil. Main engines, 24 Volts, (2) alternators. Air conditioning: Five Zone (salon, pilothouse, master stateroom, forward and port stateroom) crew quarters. Marine Air Reverse Cycle self contained air conditioning, individually controlled by zone. Battery 8 chargers: 24 Volt, for bow thruster/anchor capstan and starting batteries, and 12 Volt for VHF battery in the DC system. Heavy duty battery switches (vapor proof). Electrical bonding system. Lights throughout, 24 Volt. Engine room lights, AC & DC. Navigation lights, 24 Volt. Outlets, 120 Volt, duplex throughout the vessel. Exterior duplex Outlets, 120 Volt, (3) on flybridge, (1) on lower aft deck, (3) in engine room, (1) in lazarette. Ground fault protection on all exterior, galley and head, AC receptacles. TV cable to salon, all staterooms & crew quarters. Pre-fitted raceways for electronics. Cable, TV, phone and 50 amp shore inlets (on aft deck). Throughout The Vessel & Safety
Overhead Halogen/Xelogen lighting with dimmer switch systems are included on the pilothouse overhead lights, the overhead lights in the master stateroom, companionway, both forward guest staterooms, galley, aft deck, and accent lights in the salon. Removable panels of padded vinyl headliner throughout the accommodation areas of the vessel except in the heads where ceilings are made from a shatterproof aluminum composite panels with nickel & chromium mirrored finish. High quality, stain resistant wall to wall carpeting with underpad except in the engine room, lazarettes & galley and heads or as otherwise specified.

Cabinetry throughout the vessel featuring concealed European cabinet hinges with polished chrome push button locking hatches. Hook and eye to hold open all swinging doors to staterooms and heads. Interior cabinetry and millwork from selected flitches of cherrywood hardwood veneers as follows: Cabinetry - All cabinetry, hanging locker faces, and berths in all areas of the vessel except the crew quarters/ lazarette. Salon - All side walls and around all windows, plus the forward bulkhead and column separating the pilothouse from the galley.

Pilothouse - The aft bulkhead above settee and pass through opening to galley, instrument console and dash.

Master Stateroom - All walls except hull sides behind the shoji screens.

Forward VIP stateroom - Aft cabinetry wall, sides of hull, all counter tops.

Port guest stateroom - Upper aft bulkhead and forward cabinetry wall.

Doors, jambs and trim throughout vessel. The remainder of the vessel is finished in vinyl or laminate except as specifically noted on these specifications or. Construction Fundamentals: Hand laid-up unidirectional molded fiberglass with foam cored hull, deck and flybridge. Solid fiberglass laminate keel, bottom chines and up through hull. Lower sides to above W/L. Blister resistant gelcoat under the waterline with epoxy barrier primer and anti-fouling bottom paint. Rub rail UV resistant UHMW plastic with 1/2 oval stainless steel caps. (2) watertight engine room bulkheads. Interior spaces in bilges and engine room to be finished in white polyurethane paint. High grade white polyurethane paint above water line over undercoat & Isophthalic gelcoat base. Reinforcing stringer system of FRP laminate over foam core. Core-cell FRP laminate, hull sides, superstructure and principal bulkheads. Principal soles built of honeycombed Nidacore and FRP laminate. Core-cell lightweight stateroom & head doors. Hardwood finishing. Exterior finish on cabinets, doors/panels & countertops. Multiple coats of gloss lacquer to fill in grain, hand sanded between each coat, followed by a coat of high gloss finish polyurethane. Inner cabinets 2 coats gloss lacquer.

Pumping & Bilge System
9 bilge pumps. A double bilge pump system consisting of a lower 2000 GPH & raised 3700 GPH located in each of the vessels 4 main bilge compartments (fore & aft accommodation, engine room & lazarette) plus 1 x 1500 GPH 1" pump, a secondary 1/2" manual pump to remove all water from the chain locker for a total of 10 independent bilge pumps. The forward chain locker bilge pumps are switched on by an independent switch on the DC panel board and are not located on the main bilge pump system. The bilge pumps are all 24V DC. The remaining 9 high-water audible (loud) bilge alarms and warning lights in pilothouse for each bilge compartment listed above. Raritan water saving freshwater toilet system (Atlantes china bowl model with quiet centrifugal macerating pump @ each toilet). 2 Torrid hot water heaters, 20 gal. each. All through hulls are bronze and fitted with bronze intake ball valves. Seacocks with overboard discharge loops on all underwater through hulls.
